The Jason Raso Funktet (Ontario)
For over two decades, bass guitarist Jason Raso has been a generous contributor to the field of music in Guelph and indeed nationally, leading various groups and solo projects featuring his original music. His Funktet is his latest concern, featuring refined contemporary jazz-informed funk that is animated by distinctive soloing by all involved, as featured on their 2017 release, Live at the Jazz Room. Raso will be joined in Market Square by Alexis Baro (trumpet), Brent Rowan (alto saxophone), Adam Bowman (drums), Tyler Wagler (guitar) and Thomas Hammerton (keyboards).
