Your ticket purchase supports artistic programming and helps shape the scale and scope of what the Guelph Jazz Festival is able to present each year in our community.
As a registered charity and not-for-profit organization, the Guelph Jazz Festival relies on the support of its community to sustain its mandate of presenting adventurous and creative music. Each year, the Festival presents work that spans composition and improvisation, bringing together established and ad hoc ensembles in configurations that offer listening experiences shaped by encounter, interaction, and the specific conditions of performance.
Alongside its concert programming, the Festival plays a broader role in the cultural life of Guelph through a range of public-facing initiatives across the city. These include the Festival parade, installation-based and site-responsive works, and opportunities for audiences to engage directly with artists through interviews and workshops. The Festival also works in partnership with youth music organizations, supporting emerging musicians in their early experiences of festival performance and professional presentation.
This activity extends into the downtown core through programs such as Jazz Around Town, which brings live music into local businesses throughout the Festival weekend, as well as the Festival’s colloquium, presented in partnership with the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation, which brings artists, researchers, and audiences into shared conversation.
Buying a 50/50 ticket is a fun way to support this work. Half of each ticket goes to a winning participant, and the other half directly supports the Guelph Jazz Festival’s programming and artistic activity. It is a direct way to take part in sustaining the Festival while also having the chance to win.
How it works
Our 50/50 raffle is a simple way to support the Guelph Jazz Festival while giving you a chance to win cash.
All proceeds from ticket sales are pooled into a single jackpot. At the end of the draw period, one winning ticket is selected at random. The total jackpot is then split evenly:
- 50% goes to the winning ticket holder
- 50% supports the Guelph Jazz Festival
The more tickets sold, the larger the jackpot grows—meaning a bigger prize for the winner and more support for the festival’s programming.
The Winner will be announced at 10PM on Saturday, September 12 on the TD Main Stage at Royal City Mission. The Winner will be additionally contacted directly using their email and phone provided at purchase, and results will also be announced on our website and social channels.
