A fast rising star in Toronto’s jazz piano community, 25 year old Nick Maclean takes influences from Herbie Hancock’s Blue Note era records for his powerhouse quartet’s explorations of modern, original repertoire while paying tribute to some of the greatest improvisers in jazz history. The quartet is working on their debut full-length studio album and recently recorded 12 tracks of originals and Herbie Hancock compositions at the renowned Canterbury Studios.
